The kernel and initrd load Ok. Kernel recognices the network card but doesn't seem to initialize it correctly -> kernel dhcp fails. This also happens in Milestone 4. Note, I didn't try to boot the machine any other way. The boot.msg output regarding e1000e is: <6>[ 1.192389] e1000e: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - 2.3.2-k <6>[ 1.192392] e1000e: Copyright(c) 1999 - 2013 Intel Corporation. <7>[ 1.192509] e1000e 0000:00:19:0: setting latency timer to 64 <6>[ 1.192550] e1000e 0000:00:19:0: Interrupt Throttling Rate (ints/sec) set to dynamic conservative mode <7>[ 1.192569] e1000e 0000:00:19:0: irq 44 for MSI/MSI-X ... <6>[ 1.371675] e1000e 0000:00:19:0 eth0: registered PHC clock <6>[ 1.371675] e1000e 0000:00:19:0 eth0: (PCI Express:2.5GT/s:Width x1) 90:1b:0e:04:9b:91 <6>[ 1.371675] e1000e 0000:00:19:0 eth0: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection <6>[ 1.371675] e1000e 0000:00:19:0 eth0: MAC: 11, PHY: 12, PBA No: FFFFFF-0FF In openSUSE 12.3 the NIC is recognized and works OK.
