The key press gets as far as D-BUS. Fn+F4 produces: signal sender=:1.476 -> dest=(null destination) serial=5009 path=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/platform_thinkpad_acpi_logicaldev_input; interface=org.freedesktop.Hal.Device; member=Condition string "ButtonPressed" string "sleep" Fn+F12 produces: signal sender=:1.476 -> dest=(null destination) serial=5010 path=/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/platform_thinkpad_acpi_logicaldev_input; interface=org.freedesktop.Hal.Device; member=Condition string "ButtonPressed" string "hibernate" But it seems nobody is listening for the D-BUS notification.
