https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733170 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=733170#c0 Summary: Recent updates to 12.1 causing SEVERE IO issues with IDE connected LS-120 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: roland@logikalsolutions.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 This device worked flawlessly with the initial 12.1 release and has worked flawlessly with many versions of many distros. After the last few rounds of updates, it now takes whole seconds between IO operations. Last time something like this happened, it was a broken kernel in Ubuntu. I assume the same "fix" found its way into the kernel now being used here. I don't know how they fixed it over there, but it was quickly fixed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 12.1 2. apply all updates 3. insert superfloppy Actual Results: multiple seconds happen between IO operations. Takes eternity to mount. No longer shows up with a mount notification message box. Expected Results: Should pop up the little "what do you want to do" window quickly and allow mounting. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
