http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=608773 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=608773#c3 --- Comment #3 from Rainer Hurtado Navarro <publio.escipion.el.africano@gmail.com> 2010-05-27 05:58:02 UTC --- After I recovery the 21 first pages of the document, and the handwritten part of the 22th. page, I tried to remade this last page. I couldn't but I am already capable of reproduce any time this issue. It is related with the text function and a particular text I wrote, of 42 lines, up to 129 characters per line, sized 9, to fit the width of the page. However, I have already tested sizes from 8 to 12, repositioning of the text, shorter lines, and replacement of certain characters unsuccesfully. I had used before and now the text function, and everything is all right, except when I introduce this particular text. But there is nothing in particular to worry about this text. I write in Spanish, and nor even when chatting I use to misspell or violate the orthography. So, my words have any of these when needed: á, é, í, ó, ú, ä, ë, ï, ö, ü, à, è, ì, ò, ù, Ñ, ñ, ¿, ¡, " ", ' ', ( ), Ç, ç, -, / I pointed them out because I do not know whether this issue could involve the use of some of them. To isolate this issue, I used a new file of Xournal, in which single page I just used the text function. After write the text down (after several tries, I wrote it in Kwrite, so I could take it easily), I saved the file, closed Xournal, and later tried to open the file with Xournal. In any case, Xournal states there is an error. It is the xml code produced (I lined it): 1] <?xml version="1.0" standalone="no"?> 2] <xournal version="0.4.2.1"> 3] <title>Xournal document - see http://math.mit.edu/~auroux/software/xournal/</title> 4] <page width="612.00" height="792.00"> 5] <background type="solid" color="white" style="lined" /> 6] <layer> 7] <text font="Sans" size="12.00" x="76.99" y="58.62" color="black</layer> 8] </page> 9] </xournal> If you looked close to line 7 you will see a tagging problem, and, of course, the text is missing. Of course, as I tried to remade the page, I had put in it what was intended to be there. What had to be there was a text. But the text I wrote makes the application to fail. Perhaps Xournal is a XIXth century Mexican politician and is upset by the words I put in the text area. But I do not think so. So, I do not think that this is a problem with the text I wrote, but with its qualities clashing with the text function. I appreciate this text as a man-who-write, and as a man-who-write the text has nothing uncommon, although I have replaced it with another text (pure nonsenses) for testing purposes and the newer text are properly saved (perhaps Xournal is a XIXth century Mexican politician). So, there are some other qualities in texts that a man-who-write does not see, but Xournal does. I am very happy after I recovered 21 pages of notes, and the handwritten part of the page 22, but I am very concern about if I will be capable to recover my file a next time. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
