After installing 11.3, I felt that some of the default font sizes were inappropriate (some were too small) and thus needed fiddling with. However, I felt that the default sizes in 11.2 were about right. I've also noticed that changes to font sizes made in System Settings are not reflected in YaST and Skype. If I go to System Settings | Appearance | Fonts after a fresh installation, I see: For 11.3 General: Sans Serif 9 Fixed Width: Monospace 9 Small: Sans Serif 8 Toolbar: Sans Serif 8 Menu: Sans Serif 9 Window Title: Sans Serif 8 Taskbar: Sans Serif 8 Desktop: Sans Serif 9 For 11.2 General: Sans Serif 10 Fixed Width: Monospace 10 Small: Sans Serif 8 Toolbar: Sans Serif 8 Menu: Sans Serif 10 Window Title: Sans Serif Bold 9 Taskbar: Sans Serif 10 Desktop: Sans Serif 10 However, on my system I have also changed "Small" and "Toolbar" to 9 pt but this may be personal preference. However, looking ahead, perhaps some interogation of the display parameters during installation could help (I don't know if this happens already). For example, my desktop display is 1920 x 1080 and 24" (61 cm) along the diagonal, thus a "font set" that is quite large is helpful here. However, my laptop display is 1024 x 768 and 15" (38 cm) along the diagonal so a smaller "fontset" may work better here. At the end of the day, it is all customisable but users do respond well to sensible defaults... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
