My home directory is stored on an XFS filesystem using software RAID 1. The external drive is formatted using EXT3. During the rsync process my computer will lock up. This is easily repeatable. It does not get recorded to a log file unfortunately. I managed to grab part of the oops screen (I didn't copy everything) and here is the result: OOPS: unable to handle kernel paging reques IP: free_block+0x73/0x12e PGD 8063 PUD 0 Call Trace: drain_array+0x92/0xce cache_reap+0x156/0x261 run_workqueue+0x8b/0x119 worker_thread+0xdd/0xee code: 38 48 8d 14 08 48 8b 02 25 00 40 02 00 48 3d 00 40 02 00 75 04 48 8b 52 10 80 3a 00 78 04 0f 0b eb fe 48 8b 72 30 48 8b 4c fb 08 <48> 8b 16 48 8b 46 08 48 89 42 08 48 89 10 44 89 e0 48 c7 06 00 Linux flash 2.6.25.20-0.1-default #1 SMP Wed Feb 18 22:54:43 PST 2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux cat /proc/cpuinfo processor : 0 vendor_id : AuthenticAMD cpu family : 15 model : 39 model name : AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3700+ stepping : 1 cpu MHz : 1000.000 cache size : 1024 KB fpu : yes fpu_exception : yes cpuid level : 1 wp : yes flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt lm 3dnowext 3dnow up rep_good pni lahf_lm bogomips : 2354.19 TLB size : 1024 4K pages clflush size : 64 cache_alignment : 64 address sizes : 40 bits physical, 48 bits virtual power management: ts fid vid ttp tm stc I don't know if it's related to this or not: http://www.mail-archive.com/kernel-testers%40vger.kernel.org/msg04443.html Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.
