In the 11.2 distro, why does the package postgresql-jdbc contain the 8.2 jdbc drivers while the other postgres-* packages are all 8.4?
Because the postgresql-jdbc package is handled with much lower priority than the PostgreSQL package itself. I guess I should just drop it, because all it contains is an untested copy of the Java binaries from http://jdbc.postgresql.org/ , which people who really need that stuff can easily download from there.
And why does the postgres-jdbc package name show 8.1, but contains 8.2 drivers?
Whoops, that's of course a mistake.
Actual Results: Observe: a) the package version is 8.1, not 8.4 and b) the file list contains the 8.2 version JDBC driver.
Expected Results: The 8.4 JDBC drivers should be packaged and the package itself should have the 8.4 release designation.
Are you only complaining about version numbers, or is there an actual problem when connecting to an 8.4 database with the 8.2 JDBC drivers? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
