In reality, we don't, as you have found out. This is just a fact of life for now, and unless we want to take on a lot of engineering resources just to fix up these issues, it is not going to be fixed. Especially as these are issues that have been known by the core kernel developers for a very long time, and the fact that no customer ever sees these problems. If you want, I would suggest that you log these kinds of things against the upstream kernel.org kernel by filing bugs at bugzilla.kernel.org so that maybe the issues do get fixed and we will pull them in automatically for the next release.
