https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=781145 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=781145#c0 Summary: autoyast init scripts don't log standard out Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: AutoYaST AssignedTo: ug@suse.com ReportedBy: admin@fph.physik.uni-karlsruhe.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:15.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/15.0 In pre-systemd days, standard-out as well as standard-error messages of autoyast init-scripts were logged to /var/adm/autoinstall/log/<scriptname>. I really like to have standard-out available in a log file. So I suggest the following change in the file /etc/init.d/autoyast: Replace sh -x $script 2> $LOG_DIR/$BASENAME.log with sh -x $script > $LOG_DIR/$BASENAME.log 2>&1 Thanks and regards, Achim PS: Autoyast is a great tool, I'm using it since SuSE 9.3... PPS: This patch-request is loosely related to https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=749214 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: use autoyast with an init-script as described in http://www.suse.de/~ug/autoyast_doc/configuration.html#script_examples -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
