https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431371 Summary: gnome-settings-daemon does not start Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rawsausage@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=242911) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=242911) output of ps axu I am trying to XDMCP or run "gnome" via SSH tunneled X. Gnome-session-daemon does not start, and the desktop is extremely slow (roughly 100 times slower than what it should be). It seems that remote usage of OpenSuse is entirely impossible. "There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken. GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in." I will attach bugbuddy report, and output of ps axu after logon has completed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
