https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772555 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772555#c0 Summary: Message menu in Evolution extremely difficult to use Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Evolution AssignedTo: bnc-team-evolution@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mike.catanzaro@gmail.com QAContact: lakhil@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/535.22+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Chromium/17.0.963.56 Chrome/17.0.963.56 Safari/535.22+ SUSE/12.2 (3.4.2) Epiphany/3.4.2 The Message menu in Evolution has grown so large (using default settings) that the top option, Compose New Message, now covers the menu bar when you open the Message menu. Worse, if you simply click to open the menu, the menu will open on mouse down and then Compose New Message will be selected on mouse up. So clicking on the Menu button actually just opens a new email. The workaround is to hold the mouse button down when clicking on the menu, which will open the menu without selecting Compose New Message so long as you do not release the mouse button. You can then move the mouse off of Compose New Message in order to select other menu options. However, in this case it is not possible to mouse over to any menus to the right of Message (Folder, Search, or Help) without closing the menu by clicking elsewhere in the application. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Evolution. 2. Click on the Message menu. Actual Results: Compose New Message window opens. Expected Results: The Message dropdown menu opens. I'm using a 1368x768 monitor, like most laptop users. I can't imagine this would be an issue on larger monitors. I can't provide a screenshot because apparently the Gnome screenshot function doesn't work when a menu is opened, which seems like a bug in itself.... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
