https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=803671 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=803671#c0 Summary: attempt to refresh repos fails on first boot (resolv.conf missing) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mrmazda@earthlink.net QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=524611) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=524611) y2logs from host big41 IIRC this failure has been occurring for more than a year, and my mention of same on factory mailing list drew no comment. HTTP install from standard factory-snapshot mirror begun by loading initrd and linux via Grub fixed IP and nameserver IP specified on cmdline minimal server installation type selected no installed package names include string "anager" During first boot, YaST tries to refresh repositories, and fails to find them. This time instead of telling it to skip refresh, I found that /etc/resolv.conf did not exist, so I made one with nano, and waited for the error box to timeout, whereupon it proceeded to refresh and continue with the rest of whatever YaST does on first boot without any more pauses. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
