https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730773 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730773#c0 Summary: gnome-shell freezes on login with proprietary nvidia driver Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 3rd Party Driver AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: cfarrell@suse.com QAContact: sndirsch@suse.com Found By: Community User Blocker: --- First off, the nvidia driver is loaded - as indicated by the nvidia splash screen that I see shortly before the gnome-shell login prompt comes. Once the login prompt comes, however, the screen completely freezes. I can switch into another mode with Alt-Ctrl-F1 etc, or restart the XServer. The mouse pointer works fine as well, but I cannot click anywhere. Nothing happens. No interaction.
