https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=263732 Summary: Unlimiteed growth of the directory /home/user_name/.beagle/TextCache Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: alpha096@tpg.com.au QAContact: siegfried.olschner@novell.com There is currently no constraint placed upon the growth of the number of files stored in the above directory. I am told there is no CURRENT way of restricting them. I am told that the new version of Beagle has an switch which enables limitation of the size and number and growth of this directory's files. I mention this as a bug as I just deleted 7,000 odd files consuming almost 700 Meg of HDD and I am sorry the HDD does not go on forever especially in laptops. I also feel that any application that stores information in numerous files always needs the facility of constraint and or retention - neither of which are currently present. Please constrain the number of files in 10.3 release or possible online fix. As the primary directory is hidden and the files are created in subdirectory upon subdirectory upon subdirectory it is difficult for a user to track what is eating up HDD space and has a healthy appetite. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
