https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841966 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841966#c0 Summary: Enlightenment segfaults often (and generally doesn't operate properly either) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Beta 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: pfederighi@yahoo.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 So this is a lot of things, but I don't think it makes sense to do a bug report for each one. The Enlightenment desktop crashed just after configuration on first startup. It also crashed about 15 seconds after it "recovered". It continued to randomly crashed for no apparent reason. No useful information was given with the crash dialog. Choosing mouse-over for window focus when E first starts and asks basic configuration questions doesn't work. Sound is not configured on installation. E's file manager doesn't automatically scan and display the contents of a folder when it's opened. The refresh button must be pressed every time. This is not the case when logged in as root. Trying to reboot the system from E closes E and then just sits there with a mouse cursor on a black screen. Default color schemes for E's widgets are hard to see (black text on dark gray background). When logging in as root, E complains about the freqset binary in the cpufreq module not being owned by root or having the suid bit set. E generally seems to operate better and crash less if logged in as root. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Install Enlightenment as your desktop interface. Actual Results: An extremely buggy experience. Expected Results: A stable desktop experience. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
