https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=811271 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=811271#c8 --- Comment #8 from Peter Butler <pbutler@magma.ca> 2013-07-21 05:01:43 UTC --- Adding the mem=1000m options results in the same behavior as always (fails). However using ESC to enter text mode works! That is, so far, the only way I have been able to boot the kernel on the ISO image. (Changing the vga/graphical parameters on the kernel command line from GRUB did not help). So, now I have a bootable ISO image, and should be able to perform the upgrade from 12.2 to 12.3. However I am still more than willing to use my system to help you diagnose this issue - so far, using text mode is a legitimate 'workaround' but it doesn't really solve the underlying issue which you may still be interested in (?) As such, if there's anything else you like me to try out to narrow the scope of this down, just let me know. Again, I've never had an issue booting an OpenSUSE DVD on this particular machine before (for 12.2, 12.1, 11.4, 11.3 and 11.2), and (again) it is only on this particular machine where I encounter the problem when not using the workaround (my other 3 machines boot the DVD without issue without requiring the workaround). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
