https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=458520 Summary: Upgrade from 10.2 to 11.1 RC1 with arch change makes problems Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: novell-web@zmi.at QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Michael Monnerie <novell-web@zmi.at> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flag| |SHIP_STOPPER+ I had an existing system openSUSE 10.2 32bit and upgraded it to openSUSE 11.1 RC1 64bit so this is an architecture change, which normally should be seemless. But there are many packages which are installed in i586 mode. I first recognised it when I could not make a "Community Repository" to get installed, because Yast2 crashed - it had installed yast2-storage in i586 mode. And the same is for many other packages. I couldn't see why some are i586 while most are x86_64, but you'll sure find out. BTW: I installed using immediate updates from the Internet while installation, and even had the OSS and NON-OSS repos available during installation. Maybe you can fix this before the 11.1 release? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
