I share some informations : I'm using plasma5 with xorg and proprio nvidia drivers I didn't find or perceive any slowdown on my desktop in the last months.
I've tested geekbench and the result are there with a plain normal TW (up to date) https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/12014162
What I always apply is patch all hardware firmware for all component on my hardware some have direct relation with spectre/meldown and as my cpu is a xeon it is also preboot patched with kernel-firmware when the lastest Dell bios doesn't contain all fixes.
This is true, there are no such problems in plasma5, it worked for almost 2 days, everything was fine. but it's still not clear what causes problems in GNOME -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
