https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=251150 Summary: GRUB does not work when installed on the root partition of XFS if that partition is an extended partition Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mboman@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com In SLED10SP1B4 and openSUSE 10.3Alpha1Plus, it is possible to install the GRUB bootloader on an extended partition. But if that partition has been formatted with XFS, the bootloader does not work. In SLED10GA, the YaST bootloader configuration will not even allow be to select the partition in the same case as above. So either we have a bug, wheres it SHOULD be possible to have GRUB on an extended partition with XFS, OR we should be as smart with the YaST bootloader config as we were in SLED10GA. If it's in fact possible to use such a configuration, let me know and I'll provide more details about my partitioning scheme. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
