https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=220459 andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|ASSIGNED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #4 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-12-02 09:22 MST ------- http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-commit/2006-11/msg00952.html IMHO this is a classical example for a question that should be handled on a mailing list and not in a bugtracker since Bugzilla is intended for tracking defects and not answering questions, but OK, here you go: Both "BuildRequires: -$Package" and "#!BuildIgnore: $Package" have the same meaning of a negative BuildRequires. These are used in order to speed up the build by skipping packages that the kernel package would otherwise have to wait for in an automated build system. Some versions of rpm choke on the former syntax, that's why the latter is now preferred to keep the specfiles compatible with rpmbuild. The line is interesting for autobuild, the build service and the build script only, with the latter syntax it's not read by rpmbuild and it doesn't need to be read by rpmbuild because it covers things (setting up a chrooted build environment) that rpmbuild doesn't support anyway. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
