https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780467 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=780467#c0 Summary: Yast Bootloader is unable to read GRUB configuration from the disk Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 It is for OS 12.2 Live Gnome 32-bit. I installed OS 12.1 (GRUB), then updated to OS 12.2. The partitions are /boot (/dev/sda1) and / (/dev/sda4). Then I run OS 12.2 Live Gnome, after launched I renamed /boot directory and instead mounted /dev/sda1 as /boot. Then I launched Yast bootloader with GRUB (not GRUB2), and opted for reading the config from disk. The result was empty GRUB (i.e. no items, no config, nothing), despite the fact everything was present. I had to manually edit GRUB files to make the changes.
