https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=818649 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=818649#c0 Summary: Gobi 2000 does not work Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: uli.2001@gmx.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The WWAN adaptor Gobi 2000 of my Thinkpad 410s stopped working after upgrading from 12.2 to 12.3. It used to work with KDEs Network Manager. Now it does not. I installed the gobi_loader package from network utilities. This did not help. lsusb gives (among others): Bus 002 Device 003: ID 05c6:9204 Qualcomm, Inc.
From reading on the internet, it should say 05c6:9205 instead of ...04 via gobi_loader.
I have copied firmware to /lib/firmware/gobi a long time ago, I think. There are now three files in that directory: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11333684 4. Jun 2011 amss.mbn -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3223596 4. Jun 2011 apps.mbn -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10748 4. Jun 2011 UQCN.mbn I have no idea whether KDEs Network Manager should take care of everything or whether this somehow depends on gobi_loader. I had not installed gobi_loader on 12.2, and it just worked. I don't know what to try next. I would have hoped that upgrading to 12.3 does not break this.
