On HP Compaq nx9105, I insert a blank DVD-R or CD-R and GNOME recognizes it. I select files in Brasero, click "Burn", it hangs for a minute, then dissappears. dmesg command gives: end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0 Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0 Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0 Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0 Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0 end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0 Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0 The same goes for Nautilus CD burn mode. Brasero in OpenSUSE 11.0 worked fine.
