https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=239706 Summary: screen black when displaying some pattern Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: m.munnix@redcross.be QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com At some circumstances, the screen in X11 went dark. I seems to me that the monitor goes in "off mode" because something in the signal is bad (the monitor setup menu disapears also if displayed). After experimenting, I can now reproduce it at will when I display the attached file "gris4.bmp" (with xv or konqueror). It is a 320x320 pixel image, only two blocks of identical pixels. On the left RGB values 197,198,197 and on the right 198,199,198. The problem occurs if the frontier line between the two shades is on screen. If I pull the central part of the window off screen (I see only the left part on the right of my display or the right part of the image on the left border of the display) then the display resumes. The graphics adapter is nVidia Corporation NV28 [GeForce4 Ti 4800] and the monitor is samsung syncmaster 204B (1600x1200) with digital connection. I tried the drivers "nv" "nvidia" and "vesa". I made a standard install "Kde only" on an other partition, and installed xorg 7.3 from http://software.opensuse.org/download/xorg73/openSUSE_10.2/, same problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
