http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=628240 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=628240#c0 Summary: Dolphin Crashes and KDEINIT4 Segfaults When Trying To Copy/Paste Files Over Existing Files Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: teletwo@ix.netcom.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-1.2 Firefox/3.6.8 Greetings! When I try to copy and paste files over top of existing files using Dolphin, Dolphin will crash. Sometimes kdeinit4 also SEGFAULTs when this happens. Also the 'Notification and jobs' applet continues to work as if the job is still running until I stop it. Nothing is logged in /var/log/messages about this... Should I look someplace else? I have tried renaming the /home/<username>/.kde4 folder and that would fix it for a short while, but i had to redo all settings... :/ Yuck. The issue will return too. I can still manage files using the terminal, but this is an issue that shouldn't exist... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Dolphin and in you home directory try the steps below... 2. Right-click and choose 'Create New' > 'Folder' and click 'Ok'. 3. Right-click and choose 'Create New' > 'Text File' and click 'Ok'. 4. Right-click on the file 'Text File' and choose 'Copy'. 5. Right-click on 'New Folder' and choose 'Paste Into Folder'. 6. Right-click on 'Text File' again and choose 'Copy'. 7. Right-click on 'New Folder' again and choose 'Paste Into Folder'. Actual Results: 1. Dolphin crashes and kdeinit4 will SEGFAULT. 2. KDE Crash Handler opens and I'm not able to submit a bug report as I am told that /usr/bin/kdeinit4 is missing. 3. 'Notification and jobs' continues to spin until I open it and stop its job. Expected Results: File should have been pasted over top of the other file with a warning box asking me if I want to write over the existing file... Thanks very much in advance!!! I'd be happy to assist you with the resolution of this issue or to provide more information.
