https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=797690 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=797690#c0 Summary: Thunderbird Filters (body/contains) don't work on HTML messages Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: AntrygRevok@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0 I get kindle-books. I NEED to have all transactions that hit my funds flagged, and all $0 ebooks transaction-notices marked as read, to lighten my *check the important transactions* load I copy a line in a relevant email "Order Grand Total: CDN$ 0.00" and paste that into the filter, making it so that there is only 1 criterion, and if the message is a "hit", then 1 mark as read 2 move to a specific folder, and 3 stop executing filters on it What happens? the filter never works. It never works on ANY of the hundreds of messages of that kind I've accumulated I've tried running it on that specific sub-folder, I've tried running it on All Mail ( within that account ), and never does it work. I tried changing it to have only the "$ 0.00" bit ( which in retrospect was stupid: any item that wasn't taxed should have counted as a hit ) and the filter didn't work on anything then either. Is Thunderbird's filtering incapable of matching anything whatsoever in an HTML message body? What happened to the old e-mail program filter possibility of having a filter match ANYwhere in the message, ( subject, body, or other header )?? Anyways, the match body option is broken with HTML messages, at least. This is just a FYI: I've learned things that don't obstruct lots of people shouldn't have resources wasted on fixing 'em. However, anyone else who can't understand what the damn hell's going on with their filters not working, their computer NOT automating what they have the blasted thing for,... yes it has been encountered before... Cheers! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. get $0 kindle item 2. get e-mail confirmation ( HTML format ) 3. cut'n'paste Order Total line from e-mail into filter, making certain there are no characters before the first visible char, or after the 3rd "0" 4. set that filter to match in "body" 5. set the actions to be, as noted above, Mark Read / Move to Subfolder / Stop Executing Filters try to get it to match, and it never will... Actual Results: never marks any of those messages as read. Ever. Expected Results: should have marked hundreds of accumulated messages as read. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
