https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=335698 Summary: scim hangs with kconfig module Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bernd.paysan@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- After the last online update, scim hangs with the kconfig module, which is the right setting for KDE use (probably deadlock). The simple module still works, but then, easy configuration is not possible. Symtom is that a number of scim-helper-manager and scim-launcher processes sit around, and wait for a futex, which is never released. Killing the scim-launcher and scim-helper-manager processes cures the problem for the currently running applications, but newly started applications also need manual killing of the scim-launcher processes. It seems to me that skim, which provides the kconfig module of scim, wants scim as input method, and therefore generates the deadlock. skim shouldn't do an XOpenIM until it is up and running, and ready to serve requests. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
