I have the same issue and in the beginning I thought that was sth to do with the kde6 upgrade but looks more likely to radeon in Mesa I you suggest.

As a workaround I used the following cmdline options radeon.si_support=0 amdgpu.si_support=1
This enables at least the graphical environment but it is not the ideal solution

I thank you for your work around, I just can't understand in which configuration file I have to set the "radeon.si_support" and "amdgpu.si_support" options
As you say it's not the best solution, but if it allows me to work it's fine.
