https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=421192 Summary: Network IP print fails Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Alpha 2 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: lee_matheson@hotmail.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: --- Unable to print from openSUSE-11.1 alpha2 to a networked openSUSE-10.3 IP print server on the same LAN. The printer is an HP-5652 Deskjet. With openSUSE-10.3 and 11.0, the PC can print consistently, with client PC setup via YaST. A successful 10.3/11.0 setup on the client PC is like this: YaST > Hardware > Printers > Printers and Queues > Add > Netowrk Printers > Next > Remote IPP Queue (only for special cases) > Hostname of print server (I typed 192.168.2.101 (where that is openSUSE10.3 IP address)) and Remote Queue Lookup (pressing "look" finds the remote queue) and printing works ..... etc .. . HOWEVER, on openSUSE-11.1 that "Remote IPP Queue" printing option on previous openSUSE versions has been removed, and I could find no other settings with new YaST printing module that would allow printing to the openSUSE-10.3 print server. And as noted, network printing works find under openSUSE-10.3 and 11.0 (and previously worked find under 9.3, 10.0, 10.1 and 10.2). But under 11.1 alpha2 the IP network printing does not work for me. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
