Glad to read that you like 11.0 package management. (In reply to comment #0 from Scott Newton)
The new zypper is a great improvement over the one found in 10.3 - it is faster and seems to handle dependencies vastly better.
This is thanx to new libzypp using the new libsatsolver for parsing/reading metadata and solving. ---- It is useful to split such reports/request into smaller pieces for better handling in bugzilla. You'll see how impractical it is to mix multiple issues in one report shortly, if you won't agree about some points with me :O) 1) OK, i'll look into this. If YaST can do it, it might not be too much work to provide this in zypper. 2) In what command? E.g. 'zypper search -s' does show the arch. 'zypper info' too. 3) This is already tracked in our feature tracking tool, stay tuned. 4) There is the following basic distinction between an upgrade and update, AFAICS. The former is 'feature-wise', the latter is 'time-wise'. What you are suggesting is to call 'package update/upgrade' an "upgrade" and 'patch update/upgrade' an "update" (as it is now). I'm really not sure about this. If you're looking for a shorthand for the 'package update' we should really think of something else :O) maybe a simple option for the 'update' command, like '-p' for packages? 5) This will be covered in bug #389128 So i suggest to keep this report for 1) and discuss 4) on opensuse-softwaremgmt@opensuse.org -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
