https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=394322 Summary: Suspend to disk on HP nc6230 doesn't work Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: pavel@novell.com ReportedBy: dgollub@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: seife@novell.com, rjwysocki@sisk.pl, astarikovskiy@novell.com Found By: --- Box: HP Compaq nc6320 with latest & greatest BIOS (68DTA Ver. F.13) Suspend to disk doesn't work with openSUSE 11.0 Beta3 kernel nor with KOTD from HEAD. It's just hanging while suspending .... even the progress bar about writting something to disk doesn't appear. Suspend to disk works fine with latest torvalds 2.6.26 git kernel from 20th of May. Going to bisect v2.6.25...HEAD -- drivers/acpi/ to find which commit introduced the fix. With the 2.6.26 git kernel i saw this after resuming (succesfully): "ACPI: EC: GPE storm detected, disabling EC GPE" (written by hand) Maybe this is related and fixed by this commit: --- commit fa95ba04e6ba11d71e1b87becd054b38faf546c8 Author: Alexey Starikovskiy <astarikovskiy@suse.de> Date: Fri Mar 21 19:36:02 2008 +0300 ACPI: EC: Detect irq storm --- Please, let me know what kind of data you need ... otherwise i just keep bisecting the patch i'm looking for. (Suspend to ram doesn't work with the openSUSE head kernel either, but it seems to work better with the git kernel ... only some "blank" screen issue after resuming, but i guess that's seife's or mine fault, since i didn't read this s2ram manual carefully enough.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
