https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=455756 Summary: kupdateapplet cannot install upgrades from packman Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Update Problems AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: henning.schnoor@gmx.net QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Beta-Customer The KDE4 updater tool kupdateapplet does not detect upgrades provided by the packman repository. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install RC1 from DVD, install a couple of packages for which updates can be found in the packman repository, like kaffeine 2. Add the packman repository to YaST 3. Switch kupdateapplet to zypper 4. let kupdateapplet search for updates 5. Start YaST and show all available upgrades The package "kaffeine" will be in the list provided by YaST, but the upgrade will not be detected by kupdateapplet. The same problem does *not* occur with all repositories (for example, kupdateapplet correctly notices upgrades in the factory repository, when that is added, and other repositories hosted by download.opensuse.org do not seem to be affected as well). I only encountered the issue with the packman repository, so please use this one when trying to verify the bug. (I assume other repositories might be affected as well, though.) The bug does not come from an incorrectly configured zypper, when I enter zypper up kaffeine on the command line, the package is updated as expected. So the problem seems to be in kupdateapplet. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
