https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=483204 Summary: Horribly outdated packages manpages-de Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Translations AssignedTo: ke@novell.com ReportedBy: trans@michael-skiba.de QAContact: ke@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Opera/9.63 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) Presto/2.1.1 I was pointed to the fact, that the localized manpages (at least for de) are almost unusable outdated. Their latest version was released in november 2006 (Version 0.5). This is almost 2½ years, which is quite much in the IT world I believe. Now we've to ask ourself the question does it more harm to don't ship them at all, don't install them by default or let the user use broken manuals (which often contain deprecated stuff). I personally think it'd be if we could get the project to resume their work, but seeing as their only and latest mail in the mailinglist archiv is from 2008-03-14 and was a mail that pointed out that there's work to do and noone replied, I think the project is pretty much dead.
