https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865246 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865246#c0 Summary: openSuSE repository has wrong/incompatible version of bluez-hcidump Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: yast2-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: howard.bryan.webb@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 I'm using yast2 to try and install bluez and bluez-hcidump. Neither is installed. With only my DVD image repository available, I could add: bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586. With only my DVD image repository and the main OSS repository http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/ available, I could try to add: bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586, and hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586. However, attempting to add both is refused by Yast: Warning bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 requires bluez >= 5.8, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586[download.opensuse.org-oss_1] bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586[openSUSE-13.1-1.10_i586_32bit] Conflict Resolution: 1: do not install bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 2: break bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. In yast, set your repositories to only include the DVD image and the main OSS repository http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/repo/oss/ 2. In yast-->software maintenance, attempt to add both bluez and bluez-hcidump. 3. Observe yast's refusal to comply with your wishes due to version incompatibility Actual Results: Attempting to add both is refused by Yast: popup entitled: Warning bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 requires bluez >= 5.8, but this requirement cannot be provided uninstallable providers: bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586[download.opensuse.org-oss_1] bluez-5.8-3.2.1.i586[openSUSE-13.1-1.10_i586_32bit] Conflict Resolution: 1: do not install bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 2: break bluez-hcidump-2.5-4.1.2.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies Also, choosing option 2 to break hcidump by ignoring some of its dependencies causes bluez to be eliminated from installation. Expected Results: These 2 software components (are supposed to) come from the same software source code package; they should be compatible, and this problem should not occur. These 2 software packages should install without problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
