Downgraded all xorg-x11* packages OK and yes it fixed the problem. BUT PLEASE NOTE THIS:- 1. Standard runlevel 3 test - no instability found. 2. Reboot and repeat 1 above - instability returned. 3. Reboot to runlevel 5. 4. Reboot and repeat 1 above - no instability found.
