Now the assignment is done in a way as I would expect it for ntp only - but how the heck can anybody know / understand what is neccessary to achieve this behaviour :-). And still, why does this happen? If I say $ALL I mean $ALL and I think this is a rule that should not be interpreted in the way it is by insserv. insserv-1.11 and before seem to act like this. This is the reduced header: ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: ntp # Required-Start: $ALL # Required-Stop: $remote_fs $syslog # Default-Start: 2 3 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Network time protocol daemon (ntpd) # Description: Start network time protocol daemon (NTPD). ### END INIT INFO this is the command: insserv -v ntp > ntplog1 cat ntplog1 | grep ntp > ntplog ntplog is what you find attached to this report. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
