The problem really is in the GUI. On Worthless-Windows you need ftp:// for the ftp on that platform...at least for Vista, don't know about 7. On OpenSuSE 12.1 (and Ubuntu 10.x don't know about later) the ftp client works the exact same way as on Windows IF YOU DON'T PUT ftp:// in front of the url. When putting ftp:// in front on Linux, you need a completely different command line than on Windows. Since the ftp on Vista and earlier Windows platforms will never be updated to support the new syntax and since Kompozer is cross platform, the "expedient" fix is to stop the GUI from forcing "ftp://" in front of the URL. The GUI has separate fields for username and password which should remain separate in my opinion. The other option, and one which is quite acceptable to most users, is to create a 12.1 64-bit AMD RPM of 710 which was the "stable" version for years. It never had this problem. Lock OpenSuSE at 710 and shove the bug up-stream to the main Kompozer development team. I don't know how the 8.x version got declared "stable" since it doesn't work with most FTP clients, but, perhaps it was only tested on Windows. I searched the world over and could not find a 710 RPM for OpenSuSe. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
