http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=504119 Summary: Conflict in Configure Desktop>Network Settings>Sharing AND Yast>Network Services>Samba etc. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: alpha096@virginbroadband.com.au QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.10) Gecko/2009042700 SUSE/3.0.10-1.1.1 Firefox/3.0.10 The Configure Desktop Settings>Sharing in KDE 4.1 are in conflict with Yast>Network Services>Samba I do not feel that any file/printer sharing services are valid in the Configure Desktop area. These should be confined to Yast as they have always been. I can see no logic nor benefit in being able to configure sharing of Files and Printers in KDE Configure Desktop>Sharing as well as in Yast>Network Services>Samba One has to go as configuring both of them would lead to huge conflicts and leave the user totally confused. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Yast>Network Services>Samba AND 2. KDE Configure Desktop>Sharing Actual Results: I am to afraid to configure both as the logic for maintaining shares in both places is flawed and if configured opposing or different shares in each place the outcome would be unknown -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
