https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735933 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=735933#c0 Summary: OpenSUSE 12.1 libsocialweb-core talking to twttr.com though not configured Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: aburgemeister@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Services Priority: 400 Blocker: --- OpenSUSE 12.1 Gnome 3 Firing up and logging in and starting a LAN trace (doing nothing else other than opening a few xterm instances to catch this issue) I see a bunch of traffic to twttr.com. Eventually I traced this back to libsocialweb-core which I have not yet configured. I believe this is a known issue per the following URL: http://osdir.com/ml/fedora-desktop/2011-11/msg00022.html This appears to be fixed in 0.25.20 (I'm on 0.25.19) so we should update to this version. Also it would be nice if we caught this type of blatant problem (talking to the world without any configuration to do so) before shipping new things in OpenSUSE. If I had configured my system to integrate with social media sites this wouldn't be a big deal, but it looks bad for the system to do this before I've even configured anything. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: No phoning home (or to third parties) unless told to do so. Actual Results: Twitter traffic trouble. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
