for some reason "smbfs stop" umounts the cifs-shares and "network-remotefs stop" ALSO wants to umount the cifs-shares! of course, the second try to ummount runs into timeout!
network-remotefs just stops NetworkManager, nothing more.
something is wrong here!
i made a workaround in adding "network-remotefs" to the "Required-Start" and "Required-Stop" sections of smbfs init script. this works, but produces the following error-message at system boot: "loop exists network-remotefs in smbfs!"
Please note, that this (hal) and your problem are completely different issues, so please don't mix. See also bug 557836. It is basically not supported. These scripts are intended to provide $remote_fs, see /etc/insserv.conf: $remote_fs $local_fs +nfs +smbfs that is also to provide the /usr filesystem. NetworkManager _requires_ $remote_fs, because it is installed in /usr itself. You can use smbfs and nfs (mounts via /etc/fstab) with ifup over ethernet interfaces, but NOT with ifup over wireless or with NetworkManager. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
