https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731558 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731558#c0 Summary: new kmail (and its other processes) use a lot of memory and cpu and runs pretty instable Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: philippniehues@yahoo.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/535.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.922.0 Safari/535.8 SUSE/17.0.922.0 I fear there is not much we can do about it except waiting... But: After I read about the migration problems I decided to include my imap-mails freshly. Well, but it needs a lot of memory and cpu though. It is divided into various akonadi, nepomuk, kmail, mysql, virtuoso processes. Once the akonadi_imap_resoucre crashed for unexplainable reason. There was Kmail not even opened that time. I could not reproduce it. Other than that they did not crash and Kmail seems to works as before. (Not really slower nor faster.) Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: pretty instable program Expected Results: usable mail program I am not sure what to do. On the one hand Thunderbird works stable and great and has this nice plugin thing. But on the other hand it does not integrate as good and the interface is less netbook-friendly. Old Kmail seems as an alternative? But okay, now it is "there", so a turnaround might not be better... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
