I (again) configured my WLAN router to unencrypted mode and deleted/renamed /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-wlan0 before every step to have a clean start. YaST seems to have two different modes for unencrypted networks: a) WEP - Open This works (don't ask why I didn't try it earlier ;-) b) No Encryption With this setting, WLAN doesn't work: # iw dev wlan0 link Not connected. # iwconfig wlan0 wlan0 IEEE 802.11abgn ESSID:off/any Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=15 dBm Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off Interestingly, I did _not_ get any error messages on "rcnetwork restart" (see comment #8 for the error messages I got at LinuxTag). The difference is probably that I deleted the existing ifcfg-wlan0 config file before running YaST. (I can provide all relevant config files if you want to compare them.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
