It makes no sense to interpret large integers as "invalid date", simple heuristics suggest it would be a Unix timestamp although it's impossible to specify this explicitly due to the design of date program. It would be useful to be able to give unix timestamps to date from shell scripts rather than having to fiddle around with div and mod.
