https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=477692 Summary: Changing activity type takes long time (opensuse 11.1 + updates) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.6 Changing the activity type (right-click on desktop -> Desktop settings -> Activity type -> Folder-view (or anything else) -> OK) freezes plasma for about a minute before succeeding. During the process, an attempt to terminate the desktop-settings window leads to plasma-crash. Changing the activity type a few times also lead to plasma crash. This is probably an issue with a recent update (maybe the qt4-stack update?). Never noticed this before (changing activities worked flawlessly with 11.1 final). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Right click on desktop, select Desktop Settings. 2.Change existing activity type in the Desktop Settings window to anything other that the existing activity. 3.Click on Ok/Apply. 4.Notice plasma freezing, try closing Desktop Settings window. 5.Kwin's window not responding warning pops up, select terminate 6.Plasma crash. Actual Results: Long time required to switch activity (~1 minute) Expected Results: As in the final 11.1 (without updates), activity switching should be quick. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
