https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804486 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=804486#c0 Summary: Feature request: battery life cycle management (limit charge to 80%) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: me@kalenz.eu QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- It is well known that Lithium-Polymer batteries last longer (i.e., don't lose capacity as quickly) if kept at less than 100% charge. Some newer machines allow setting a max. battery charge in BIOS. The KDE battery status icon (system tray) then shows "80%, charging..." indefinitely. It would be great if there were a root-level (--> YaST module) or user-level (--> KDE) setting to limit battery charge to a maximum, say, 80%. Ideally, there would also be a "boost charge" command somewhere, to go all the way to 100% on demand. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
