https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865731 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=865731#c0 Summary: download verification cumbersome as md5 file not linked in download GUI Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mehl@freunde.tu-darmstadt.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0 On the page http://software.opensuse.org/131/en it saies md5 checksum is still the most commonly used checksum. Many ISO burners display it right before burning Clicking on the link md5 one gets the page http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/13.1/iso/openSUSE-13.1-DVD-i586.is... which displays the checksum. I personally download to a file which is shown in the file manager krusader. krusader is able to verify the checksum provided there is a .md5 file somewhere. So I copied the content of the md5 file to a new txt file, saved that, and finally startet the verification process. Things would be easier if clicking on md5 would lead directly to the md5 _file_ which could then be used for the verification. So I suggest having the download page changed accordinly for 13.2. In closing I would like to thank you for the work done for us users. A.
