https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772340 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=772340#c0 Summary: Firefox 14.0.1 opens separately from its icon in Icon-Only Task Manager Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Firefox AssignedTo: bnc-team-mozilla@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: varyheavy@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:14.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/14.0.1 I use the Icon-Only Task Manager in KDE, and one of the launchers I use in it is Firefox. Since Firefox was updated to version 14.0.1, when I click in the Firefox icon, the application opens separately from its icon. This is what I mean: http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/5273/instantnea22.png I tried to fix it by editing the command of the Firefox launcher in the KDE menu (with the KDE menu editor), writing the full path to the Firefox's executables. I tried writing the next commands: -> /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox -> /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox-bin -> /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox.sh With the first two commands I fix the main problem, I checked that Firefox doesn't open separately from its icon in Icon-Only Task Manager, but instead all plugins (Flash, Java, VLC-plugin, etc.) were missing. With the last command, all plugins returns but the application opens separately from its icon in Icon-Only Task Manager. That is, with the last command the behavior is similar to run simply "firefox". This did not happened never before. It only happens with version 14.0.1. I have found this problem also in the 32-bit Firefox package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/mozilla/openSUSE_12.1/. The Mozilla Firefox official version doesn't have this problem. Neither happens in other distros. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Put Icon-Only Task Manager in KDE. 2. Update Firefox to version 14.0.1. 3. Drag the Firefox launcher from KDE menu to the Icon-Only Task Manager. 4. Launch Firefox. Actual Results: Firefox opens separately from its icon in Icon-Only Task Manager. Also, launch Firefox by using the full path to its executable (/usr/lib64/firefox/firefox or /usr/lib64/firefox/firefox-bin) makes dissapear all web-browser plugins. Expected Results: Firefox should open on its icon in Icon-Only Task Manager, like all other applications and all other earlier Firefox versions. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
