https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=643941 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=643941#c0 Summary: Cannot change screen res to more than 1024x768 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rs205@web.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 I am using 11.3, KDE 4.5 from Factory and a radeonhd driver because it works for my ATI x1600pro. When I updated my amarok I also updated my kernel version. Since then my screen resolution doesn't get properly detected and I cannot change the resolution to something higher then this. 'xrandr -q' tells me: Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1024 x 768, maximum 8192 x 8192 VGA-0 connected 1024x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm 1024x768 60.0* 800x600 60.3 56.2 848x480 60.0 640x480 59.9 59.9 S-video disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DVI-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) I am using a 19 inch CRT screen, normally woking in 1280x1024 or 1600x1200. I also tried to manually bring it to work, see below. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.I made sure that there is a 51-radeon.conf in my xorg.conf.d for the radeon 2.I edited it like that: http://pastebin.org/32315 3.I rebooted with no sufficient result and recheckt the logfiles: http://pastebin.org/32058 Actual Results: It feels like I am using a vesa driver. Expected Results: It should have detected the proper screen resolution or at least given me some options to change it. In former cases of a low resolution I could change that in systemsettings. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
