https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464294 User AxelKoellhofer@web.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=464294#c260918 Summary: xawtv - Patches for libv4l-support (gspca-devices) Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: AxelKoellhofer@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Since kernel 2.6.27 some applications will not work properly with certain webcams (using i.e the new gspca-drivers) due to missing support for lib4vl userspace library. Below is a set of patches for xawtv-3.9.5 obtained from fedora10 package, see https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=457796 and http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/packages/xawtv/3.95/10.fc10/src/ for more information. These patches have also been merged to Ubuntu 8.10 http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/xawtv http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/x/xawtv/xawtv_3.95.dfsg.1-8ub... xawtv (3.95.dfsg.1-8ubuntu2) intrepid; urgency=low * Add 100_fedora-v4l2-fixes.dpatch: fixes for v4l2 use (from Fedora). * Add 101_fedora-nodga.dpatch: fixes for lack of DGA (from Fedora). * Add 102_fedora-use_libv4l.dpatch: use libv4l to open v4l devices (from Fedora) and added libv4l-dev Build-Dep (LP: #260918). One of the patches (xawtv-3.95-fixes.patch) was slightly modified as one of the hunks is already inside one of the patches in the original package for openSUSE 11.1. The spec-file was also slightly modified to include libv4l-devel as "BuildRequire" (and of course including the new patches). Unfortunately, I have no appropriate hardware to test but the package builds fine on openSUSE 11.1 (i586). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
