https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=299810 Summary: Tomboy produces a confusing 'Welcome' window at first start of GNOME Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jdluhos@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- When the user first starts GNOME after freshly installing openSUSE 10.3, the Tomboy application produces a welcome window. Although this is understandable from the application's point of view, it might be confusing for an unexperienced user because he/she does not know what Tomboy is. The confusion is larger due to the fact Tomboy window appears in a precise moment when the user really would expect a welcome window, but one from the operating system. It then leads to thoughts "what Tomboy? I meant to install SUSE Linux??" I would suggest one of: 1) do not start Tomboy by default after installation (let the user run it for the first time, and let it make autostart if he/she wants it). 2) inhibit the welcome screen of Tomboy, or delay it until the user clicks on the Tomboy icon for the first time. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
